Position: Spacecraft Structures Engineer
Location: Denver, CO
Position Type: Full-time
Compensation: 100k - 140k


As a Spacecraft Structures Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and optimizing the structural integrity of spacecraft. Your expertise in spacecraft design principles, materials science, and structural analysis will ensure our missions succeed in the challenging space environment. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will be crucial in achieving our goals.

Success Factors:
  • Specialized Knowledge: Proficient in spacecraft design principles, materials science, structural analysis, dynamics, mechanics, finite element analysis (FEA), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
  • Innovation: Drive progress with new materials, manufacturing techniques, and design methods to enhance spacecraft performance and sustainability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring structural considerations are integrated into spacecraft design.
  • Safety and Reliability: Design and test structures to withstand extreme space conditions, ensuring mission success.
  • Efficiency: Focus on optimizing structural design for performance and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems for spacecraft.
  • Define structural requirements and conduct analysis and simulations to evaluate performance under various conditions.
  • Optimize spacecraft structures for performance, weight, and cost.
  • Perform finite element analysis, structural dynamics, and thermal analysis.
  • Select materials and manufacturing processes that meet space environment requirements.
  • Develop and implement testing plans to validate structure performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout the spacecraft development lifecycle.

Experience:
  • 4-8 years in spacecraft structural design and engineering.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, Abaqus).
  • Experience with spacecraft systems, space, and launch environments.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, thermal considerations, and NASA testing documentation.

Requirements:
  • Authorized to work in the U.S., meeting ITAR requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience with structural analysis software and space environments.
  • Hands-on experience with testing and results interpretation.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive salary targeted at $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually.

Work Environment & Travel:
  • Office environment with potential for hybrid work.
