Job Description

We are seeking a Staff Engineer. The Staff Engineer will be a critical technical leader, shaping our platform’s architecture, mentoring engineers, and driving the strategic adoption of emerging technologies. You’ll work cross-functionally to align business and product goals, ensure scalability and reliability across our infrastructure, and champion innovations. This position is remote in CO or UT.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Architect & Innovate
  • Define and drive architectural decisions for large-scale systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and future-ready scalability.
  • Investigate and champion new technologies to unlock efficiencies and deliver strategic value.
  • Lead & Mentor
  • Guide and mentor engineers across multiple teams, raising the bar for technical excellence.
  • Oversee multi-engineer projects and keep communication flowing, ensuring on-time, high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate & Communicate
  • Partner with Product, QA, and other teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Clearly articulate engineering decisions, trade-offs, and best practices to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Maintain & Optimize
  • Monitor system health and proactively identify bottlenecks, implementing solutions to maintain top-notch performance and reliability.
  • Provide hands-on expertise to resolve complex system challenges, ensuring our platform remains at the cutting edge of the industry. Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
    • 10+ years of experience designing and scaling complex distributed systems with multiple services, datastores, and event queues
    • Advanced expertise in OOP, distributed architectures, automated testing, and data querying
    • Hands-on experience with cloud native infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes preferred) and modern DevOps practices.
    • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to translate intricate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
    • Demonstrated mentorship and leadership capabilities, with experience guiding and scaling engineering teams.
    Nice to Have:
    • Expertise in generative AI or other emerging technologies, including building proof-of-concepts and evaluating business ROI.
    • Background in data warehousing and real-time data integrations.
    • Experience with Machine Learning
    • Familiarity with CI/CD tools

    Compensation 180k - 210k
