Staff Engineer - ML
Compensation: DOE
We are seeking an experienced and talented Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. In this role, the Staff Engineer will lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions that drive our company's products and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy scalable AI systems that solve complex business problems. Strong programming skills and an interest in AI technologies are essential for this position.
PROJECT INFORMATION:
The AI core team supports several AI/ML based projects in different capacities depending upon the needs of the project. We also build and support the primary AI chat platform (chatRSG) that provides secure access to Generative AI for our entire organization. The AI core team also leads the AI center of excellence and will provide guidance, frameworks, tooling, and education on AI technologies.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Provides technical direction related to project deliverables for both on-shore and off-shore team members.
•
Reviews business requirements and technical analysis to develop system implementation approaches designed to meet business objectives, while also consulting with Solution/Enterprise Architects.
•
Maintains and utilizes expert knowledge of, and provides system support for, at least two or more complex technical operating environments.
•
Manages code quality by leading code reviews and ensuring appropriate unit test coverage is in place.
•
Contributes to project deliverables by performing system administration and/or software development tasks as needed.
•
Provides support and resolution of open IT issues escalated by the product team
•
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•
Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, developing, planning and executing scalable technology solutions, tools, operations and support. Ideally using technologies such as Python, TypeScript/Javascript, Angular or React, NodeJS, relational as well as NoSQL databases, API development, Infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or cloudformation.
•
Expert knowledge of cloud architectures, services, and DevOps practices within Amazon AWS and Github. Specifically, Lambdas, DynamoDB, RDS, ECS, API Gateway, Step Functions, Cloudwatch log metrics and alarms, and Github Actions.
•
Significant experience building applications or products that have AI/ML technologies embedded within the product
•
Demonstrates accountability, sound decision making, analytical thoroughness, clear and concise communications, and the ability to lead and coach team members.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Should have experience working in a fast-paced environment Agile SDLC process
· Should have experience working on large scale, enterprise systems supporting thousands of users in a cloud environment
· Should have a working knowledge of AI and ML technologies
