Job Description
Sr. Fire Protection Engineer
Experience:
--Experience in major aspects of industrial fire protection and life safety, and major codes and standards, including:
--Fire hazard and risk evaluations / analyses
--Fire modeling
--Life safety (NFPA, IBC/IFC, OSHA)
--Performance based design
--Hydraulic analysis
Computer skills:
Compensation: $70-80/hr.

Experience:
- Senior level: 15+ years
- Registered in the discipline of fire protection, having passed the national NCEES fire protection engineering PE exam
--Experience in major aspects of industrial fire protection and life safety, and major codes and standards, including:
- NFPA suppression system standards (water, foam, foam-water, gaseous)
- NFPA alarm system standards (including air aspiration)
- DOE and DOD
- API
- ICC
- FM Global Data Sheets
- Electric generating plants (hydroelectric, fossil fuels)
- Facilities handling nuclear materials
- Battery energy storage systems
- Flammable and combustible liquids
- LNG and LPG
- Explosions and deflagrations
--Fire hazard and risk evaluations / analyses
--Fire modeling
--Life safety (NFPA, IBC/IFC, OSHA)
--Performance based design
--Hydraulic analysis
Computer skills:
- Desirable to be familiar with various CAD programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCAD (and HydraCalc)
- Hydraulic analysis software (e.g., HASS, HydraCALC)
- Must be able to communicate complex ideas clearly and in a manner readily understood by stakeholders outside the fire protection profession
- Must be able to write clearly and succinctly
- Must be able to engage stakeholders (client, authority, management) in discussions related to fire and life safety issues and clearly communicate ...
- Develop engineering deliverables, scope of work, budget (engineering hours) and schedule
- Must be familiar with Earned Value Measurement System (EVMS)
Compensation: $70-80/hr.
