As a Senior Business Intelligence Developer, you will help our company solve their most challenging problems and drives decisions with data. In the role of a BI developer, you will drive value by providing advanced strategic analytical report development and tool deployment to support Business Intelligence for our client. Responsibilities include collaborating with our divisions to find thoughtful solutions that embed and promote Business Intelligence tools and reports, supporting corporate Business Intelligence initiatives, implementing new systems and tools, unit testing tied to new tools and reports, maintenance of existing tools and training employees in effective use of BI tools and reports.

Responsibilities include collaborating with our divisions to find thoughtful solutions that embed and promote Business Intelligence tools and reports, supporting corporate Business Intelligence initiatives, implementing new systems and tools, unit testing tied to new tools and reports, maintenance of existing tools and training employees in effective use of BI tools and reports.
JOB DUTIES:
Manage and Execute Business Intelligence Projects to solve business problems (50%)
- Function as a liaison (“data co-pilot”) between IT and functional areas for Business Intelligence projects, managing and taking accountability for quality delivery of projects on time.
- Direct in developing project plans, communication plans, change readiness assessments, road shows, and end-user training.
- Lead the design, development, implementation and utilization of Business Intelligence tools and reports to evaluate business process effectiveness.
- Conduct Business Intelligence mapping discussions, configure solutions, guide system and integration testing, and manage implemented solutions.
- Participates on various cross functional project teams, following agile development to ensure business governance and acceptance of technical interpretation of requirements – this includes understanding the sensitivity of confidential information and its distribution.
- Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures.
- Ensure creation of quality design documentations of all BI initiatives to departmental, corporate and industry standards.
- Manage user security for new and existing Business Intelligence tools in compliance with all audit requirements.
- Enhance existing Business Intelligence tools and reports by adding new requirements or improving existing design. Manage data quality in Business Intelligence reports.
- Proactively identify processes that would benefit from system automation to improve Business Intelligence team effectiveness and increase operating efficiencies.
- Develops and maintains system documentation including but not limited to Functional Specifications, Business Processes, and Solution Analyses.
- Ensure the benefits from data products and services continue to be realized and behavior changes are sustained after implementations are considered complete by creating and tracking progress against success metrics.
- Assist in effectively managing transitions, ensuring that business continuity is maintained throughout the change process and new workflows are effectively integrated with no business disruption.
Data & Analytics Evangelist (20%)
- Eliminate data silos and bridge gaps using effective data models that enable cross functional and rolled-up level reporting.
- Drive adoption by mentoring business users into data story tellers throughout all divisions.
- Contribute to the evangelism, advancement, and improvement of agile practices throughout the entire organization.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative disciplines.
- 7-9 years’ experience with complex technical report design and implementation with working knowledge of variable syntax construction for various aggregation strategies, and an understanding of when a data cube will require an alternate aggregation approach.
- 7-9 years’ experience working with various DW, BI, or ERP software packages (Tableau, SAP Business Objects, SAS Business Intelligence, Cognos, SAP, Data Stage, Informatica, Oracle, JDE, QAD, etc.).
- A minimum of 7 years of SQL experience is required.
- Complex relational database development, maintenance, and exception testing experience required (MS Access, Data Warehouse, Oracle, or other)
- Experience with data modeling strategies and related technical documentation, understanding of universe structure types and corresponding functionality, ability to design, execute, and document test scenarios.
- Advanced user in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint & Visio; must have expert functional knowledge of Excel and Access
- Candidate will understand SDLC/RDLC/DCLC, waterfall, and agile methodologies and practical application when managing or participating in any project, enhancements to database or system configuration, or fulfilling a request for data/reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and ensure follow-through on committed deliverables.
- Experience with troubleshooting data and reporting issues and identifying root causes of performance bottlenecks.
- Master’s degree in Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative disciplines preferred.
- Must be willing to be on call for night/weekend production support in rare cases.
- Ability to think strategically about tools and technologies that enable analytics.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication skills.
