Job Description
Looking for a Senior Software Engineer contractor to join the Working Capital Team. You’ll help build and scale working capital capabilities for small businesses on the platform, supporting reliable experiences across millions of transactions.
What You’ll Do

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and payment automation features.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, technical documentation, and continuous improvement.

Help translate business needs into practical technical designs and development plans.
What You’ll Bring
-
At least 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 12+ years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Java backend development experience.

Java programming experience, including writing testable code.

Experience writing unit test cases and automation test scripts to support Full Cycle Engineering.

Experience with merge methodologies using version control systems such as GitLab and BitBucket.

Experience with database technologies such as Oracle, RDS, and DynamoDB.

Experience with REST communication.

Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues.

Experience in distributed system design, algorithms, and logging frameworks.

Experience working on large-scale, complex applications.

Experience designing and building scalable cloud-native applications deployed on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Experience in complex problem-solving in large-scale distributed systems, performance optimization, and high-availability systems.
Nice to Have
-
Experience in advanced technologies such as Kubernetes, Serverless Architectures, AI/ML frameworks, and advanced cloud services.

Experience designing and implementing microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Docker.

Experience in the payments industry or building payment applications.
