Power BI Developer
Compensation: 75/hrÂ
POSITION SUMMARY: The Developer sits on the Data Analytics team and serves as the point-of-contact for all questions data stored in the Data warehouse. This position develops, maintains, and distributes presentations and reports. The Developer extracts data from the data warehouse to answer ad hoc questions. The Developer is responsible for quickly and effectively diagnosing and resolving internal user application issues that are escalated by the Tier 1 and 2 support desks. This requires emphasis on analyzing complex business and technical problems to shape and deliver an entire system’s software components. The position is expected to analyze, configure, and tune the underlying framework and infrastructure and is considered the subject matter expert on each system’s functionality, behavior and capabilities.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Researches and resolves data inquiries and requests.
• Provides insights and serves as a subject matter expert for all data in the warehouse.
• Helps with creating and maintaining the data catalog for the warehouse and BI metrics.
• Writes ad-hoc SQL queries to pull data out of the data warehouse.
• Documents requirements for data science and reporting projects.
• Supports the development of standard data analyses, reports, and dashboards.
• Collaborates with other teams to gather data and build relationships.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
• Subject matter expert that assists others in defining application system scope and objectives through research and fact finding and makes recommendations pertaining to system design and solutions.
• Diagnoses and resolves software application issues of end users promptly and professionally.
• Engages appropriate IT and business resources to resolve technical issues and support business processes, while updating users on progress toward resolution.
• Provides technical direction related to deliverables for both on-shore and off-shore team members.
• Identifies and recommends system modifications to reduce user issues.
• Fully documents and creates defects of each issue and resolution using the incident tracking system.
• Keeps support desk team, peers, and management apprised of any new support issues in a clear and timely manner.
• Ensures that end users are provided with accurate and effective solutions and that end user support needs are met with a consistently high quality of service.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with reporting tools (Power BI)
• Experience working in cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS
• Experience with Denodo a data virtualization and real time integration tool.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
• Strong communication skills to work with business stakeholders.
• Strong working on SQL
• Background in technical support of enterprise platform technologies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• 6 years of experience in data analysis using SQL or other tools.
• 3 years of experience in building data driven analytics
