Job Description
PDS is looking for a Greenplum DBA.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain database system software, ensuring robust security and performance.

Monitor and analyze database performance to ensure optimal utilization and availability.
-
Maintain database dictionaries, support tools, and accurate system documentation.
-
Contribute to the development and maintenance of strategic, architectural, and tactical plans for database and data warehouse environments.
-
Provide technical leadership and mentorship on database systems and tools.
-
Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve database performance and reliability.
-
Implement business continuity and disaster recovery solutions, including replication and backup strategies.
-
Establish and enforce database standards and best practices.
-
Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.
Qualifications:
-
4+ years of Greenplum administration experience, including performance tuning and optimization of complex SQL queries for large data sets.
-
Hands-on experience with Greenplum tools, including: MADlib, PXF, GPCC, gpfdist, gpload, gpbackup, gprestore, gpdr backup, and gpdr restore.
Strong SQL development skills and experience with data warehousing environments.

Proficiency in Bash scripting, Python, and working in UNIX/Linux (RHEL) environments.

Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Familiarity with ETL tools such as IBM DataStage or similar.

Automation-minded with a focus on streamlining database operations.

Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
-
Exposure to containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience with Databricks and Spark-based data processing.
