Job Description
Data Engineer
Compensation: DOE
The Data Engineer is a hands-on technical role focused on full stack software development within the Enterprise Data organization.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Build data pipelines using Python.
• Hands-on experience using Object oriented programming like Python, Java.
• Knowledge working on AWS services like Lambda, Glue, EMR, S3, IAM, Kinesis.
• Experience working on RDBMS, NoSQL, and big data platforms.
• Advanced analytics like Speech, Audio and Video analytics experience is a plus.
• Participates in all aspects of the software life cycle using Agile development methodologies.
• Expected to work on development and production support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3+ years of experience with working content or knowledge management systems, search engines, relational databases, NoSQL databases, ETL tools, geospatial systems, or semantic technology.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with NoSQL Database preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Kinesis, Lambda, Athena, Glue, EMR) required.
• 5+ years of analytics tools like SAS, R, Python, and other advanced statistical software.
• 1+ years of Web development experience with Angular, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Exposure to Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
• Ability to multi-task effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an Agile Team.
MINIMUM QUALITIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or closely related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) required.
• 5+ years of experience in AWS services for data and analytics required.
• 5 years of experience in Data Ingestion, Data Extraction, and Data Integration required.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Python, JavaScript and Java required.
• Experience with JSON or XML data modeling required.
• Experience with Git/GitHub, branching, or other modern source code management methodologies required.
• Knowledge of multiple programming environments, debugging tools, and test tools required.
• Domain knowledge of NoSQL or relational database required.
• Experience developing enterprise grade production software required.
• Understanding of database architecture and performance implications required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
