Job Description

Compensation: DOE
This role supports a city operations team and focuses on assisting workforce members with technology setup, access, and day-to-day support. The position is fully on-site and includes the following core responsibilities:
1. New Staff Setup & Access Preparation

  • Prepare accounts for incoming personnel across internal systems.

  • Assign permissions and access levels that match each individual’s responsibilities.

  • Provide necessary devices and software tools for new team members.

  • Offer a brief walk-through of technology guidelines and how to get started.
2. Account & Access Maintenance

  • Keep user lists, access groups, and digital organization structures up to date.

  • Update access rights for various tools, shared folders, and internal resources.

  • Ensure that access settings meet internal security and compliance expectations.
3. Request Intake & Issue Routing

  • Monitor incoming requests through the team’s support platform.

  • Perform the first round of troubleshooting for device, login, and basic software issues.

  • Forward more complex matters to specialized support staff with clear notes.

  • Follow request progress to help ensure timely completion.
4. General Technical Assistance

  • Identify and resolve common problems related to sign-ins, connectivity, and everyday software errors.

  • Assist with setup and basic troubleshooting for printers, small devices, and workstation accessories.

  • Support users with common productivity tools used across the organization.
5. Recordkeeping & Process Documentation

  • Log steps taken for each request, including findings and resolutions.

  • Create and update internal instructions or reference materials.

  • Track recurring challenges to help identify trends and propose improvements.

  • Share insights with leadership regarding request patterns or resourcing needs.
6. Team Collaboration & Workflow Enhancement

  • Partner with higher-level technical staff when issues need to be escalated.

  • Recommend enhancements to onboarding workflows, access processes, and request handling.

  • Stay informed on updates to tools, operating environments, and security practices.
7. Workstation Support

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with organization-issued computers and software.

  • Perform routine updates and maintenance.

  • Set up or refresh devices with required system images and applications.
8. Connectivity & Peripheral Support

  • Assist users with connection issues on networks within the organization.

  • Support setup and troubleshooting for printers, accessories, and peripheral devices.

  • Manage common workstation add-ons such as monitors, docking equipment, and input devices.

  • Replace hardware components when needed.
9. User Assistance & Service Quality

  • Provide clear, helpful, and professional communication to all personnel seeking assistance.

  • Ensure all support interactions are documented promptly and accurately.
