Job Description
Principal Structural Engineer
We are seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to perform advanced structural analysis and validation of high-performance aerospace hardware, including spacecraft, payloads, instruments, mechanisms, optical systems, and ground support equipment. In this role, you will evaluate structural integrity using both analytical calculations and finite element modeling, develop load cases and environmental requirements, and assess hardware performance under static, dynamic, acoustic, shock, vibration, and thermal conditions. You will play a key role in supporting design development, verifying compliance with mission requirements, and ensuring hardware can withstand demanding operational environments. Responsibilities also include documenting analysis results, presenting technical recommendations, and supporting design reviews and test campaigns.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in structural mechanics, finite element analysis, and structural dynamics, along with experience using tools such as Nastran and other advanced simulation platforms. You should be comfortable analyzing complex structures, bonded and bolted joints, weldments, electronics, antennas, and composite or high-temperature materials. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent technical communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple engineering efforts simultaneously while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across design, test, manufacturing, and mission operations. Candidates with experience in spacecraft structures, environmental testing, and advanced simulation methods are highly encouraged to apply.
Compensation: $76/hr.
We look forward to reviewing your application. We encourage everyone to apply - even if every box isn’t checked for what you are looking for or what is required.
