As a Controls Engineer III specializing in tooling, you will play a crucial role in supporting production and manufacturing groups by designing and implementing automated production machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain automated equipment for aerospace vehicle production.
- Support tooling control projects from inception through commissioning.
- Troubleshoot controls-related issues in real-time to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop controls processes and standards.
- Provide rapid turnaround for specialty equipment requests and emergent needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls, Automation, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience designing tooling or equipment for aerospace hardware manufacturing.
- Proficiency with PLC programming/debugging and software such as Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems operating at low and medium voltage levels.
- Experience with automated industrial machinery and electro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylum seeker.
- Familiarity with control systems standards such as IEC 61131 and NFPA 79.
- Experience with high-level programming languages like Python or C#.
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of process automation equipment and tooling.
