As a Sr. Operations Engineer specializing in tooling, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production tooling used for lunar vehicle manufacturing and testing. Your commitment to safety and attention to detail will directly impact the success of our mission to make space more accessible.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-floor tooling support to address deficiencies, concerns, and opportunities.
- Support maintenance, calibration, and preventative maintenance planning activities.
- Act as a liaison to the design team, defining tooling requirements and participating in design reviews.
- Coordinate with engineering and production control to ensure operational requirements are captured in work orders.
- Utilize CAD software for model navigation, interpretation, and concept creation.
- Support Windchill activities including document searches, release state reviews, and CN sign-offs.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, structural, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
- Minimum 7 years' experience with mechanical and electrical systems, control systems, and lifting fixtures.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize work effectively.
- Familiarity with CAD modeling, drawings, and revision control systems.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Experience working on aerospace development programs is desired.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylum seeker.
- Proficiency in CAD modeling and drawings using PTC Creo.
- Experience authoring and executing maintenance work orders.
- Hands-on fabrication, assembly, or maintenance experience.
- Ability to work cooperatively with diverse teams across geographic distances.
